A couple of weeks ago I blogged that we would be having an Open House & Grand Opening once we had everything ready.  Well, we’ve finally settled on a date…Thursday March 19, 2009…it will be a combination of celebrating the new studio opening and my birthday! 

The open house will be an all day event, so plan on  stopping by, have some refreshments (we promise to have something YUMMY!!), register for our door prizes and just visit when you get a chance.  The party will continue thoughout the next week as we’ll be drawing daily for the door prizes, offering some special booking bonuses for 2009 seniors AND then we have our Spring Garden Quicktake special scheduled for the following Tuesday, March 24th.   

2010 Seniors…We’ll also have applications available for our FACES 2010 program so be sure to come by and get one.  We will be selecting our 2010 senior models in the coming weeks so we can begin their model sessions.

It’s been pointed out by a few… (and you know who you are, blog stalkers!!  haha!!)… that I’ve been neglecting the blog…which I have been but here’s my Top 10 Reasons for Not Faithfully Blogging These Past Few Weeks. 

10.  I’ve been sick…cough, cough…wheeze.  Ok… who in East Texas hasn’t been sick, right?  So I’ve decided to get better.  Whether my throat & sinuses go along with this decision is another story.

9.  Did you know that January and February is THE best time to take team sports?  I know this now!!  (Those orders should be delivered by end of February, by the way.)

8.  Almost 2 years since we moved in the house and we JUST finished staining and rehanging the doors for the other half of the kitchen cabinets…ok…Jeff did the 2nd half!  But I helped!

7.  Studio was crazy busy so I’ve been working on, well, ‘work’….I’m almost caught up and everyone’s proofing should be online and orders should be in within the next week.  

6.  You know the only bad thing about a bridal session?  Ya take a bunch of great images and can’t share them with the blogdom til AFTER the wedding!  LOL !

5.  My Nyquil soaked brain decided I had to sleep sometime.

4.  Two words…album designs.

3.  Taxes…ugh!

2.  Planning, painting and packing…  Why, you may be wondering???

1.  Signed the lease today and will be MOVING INTO THE NEW STUDIO!!!  yeah!!

We’re hoping to be in and ready for business by the first of March.  For the first few months, it will still be by appointment only.  There will be a new physical address and phone number (which I will post as soon as I have it).  Business name, website, blog and email addresses will all stay the same.   There are a few more exciting things in the works and I’ll share them with you as soon as I’m able.

So while I haven’t blogged much these past few weeks… and possibly for the next week or so while we get things set up…please keep checking back with us!  I’ll post soon with more details as I get them.

Ryan and her mom, Robin were in last weekend for Diboll Day and came by for a session.  Miss Ryan is so cute and we had a great time playing around the studio.  Here’s a few of my favorites from her session and Robin, thanks so much for sharing her with me! 

Sky came in several weeks ago and I’d promised in an earlier post that I’d put a peek into her studio session on the blog.  Things happened and her images weren’t posted… so sorry for the wait, Sky!  But here they are now and you are BEAUTIFUL!  I had such a good time with you and Ashley!    Y’all have fun and hope that I’ll see you again soon.   Enjoy!

A few weeks ago, Forrest came in for a session and in between hurricanes I didn’t get a chance to blog any of his images.  This morning, I was editing his session and knew I’d have to upload a handful of my favorites!  Forrest is on the golf team for Hudson, so we shot a few with his clubs and he also brought in both of his guitars…an acoustic and this beautiful black Gibson.  You can tell we had a lot of fun with the Gibson!   Thanks for coming in and I can’t wait to do the outdoor session. 

The Diboll Day Silent Auction ends today at 6 pm.  There are several great items up for bid including a $100 Gift Certificate to Allison Hearne Photography, good towards portrait session fee or prints.   This certificate is an excellent start towards your portrait investment if you are planning to have a family portrait & Christmas cards done for the holidays, maternity or baby session, or if you have a graduate needing senior portraits and invitations.   It’s also makes a great gift!
