Quick glimpse into Casey’s bridal session.  So loved that Casey brought along her boots and Jody’s hat!!   It’s always fun when brides bring along things that will make the session “theirs”.  It was a gorgeous day and much fun with Casey and maid of honor, Lindsey!!    My favorite image of the day is the one below:

Erica and Tracy were married this past Saturday so I can safely post her bridal session now and finish the story of Carey & Erica’s bridal  session.

So as I blogged earlier in Carey’s bridal post , we were photographing both Erica and Carey’s bridal portraits in a field at Southern Stables in Lufkin…complete with “cows” (as we’d been referring to them).  Just as we get Erica set up to start her portraits in the field, the owner of Southern Stables calls to us, “Y’all might want to start heading over here” and points across the field towards the “cows”.  We all turn to see that they have slowly started to amble towards us.  At this point, let me emphasize the SLOW and the AMBLE part!  They still had over half the field to cross and didn’t look that interested in us at the moment.  But Erica, her mom, Jeff and I…we all seemed to be in agreement right then about several issues.  Like, that the “cows” really aren’t “cows” so much as they are L-O-N-G-horns…and the horns on the longhorns look alot more intimidating at the closer vantage point and we’d all rather have the fence between them and us.

So Erica and her mom gather up the dress and flowers then start towards the gate.  Jeff, thinking about the issues with my back and leg, tells me to follow them while he gets the bag and equipment…so I do this crazy limpy-gallop to follow them and urging Jeff to be quick.  So we’re trying to figure out the catch on the gate and all look back  to see the longhorns have decided they don’t want to miss the party!  So they come galloping after us…the leader is just shaking his horns at us.  When we finally all get safely on the other side, they were right there behind us!  I realized then just how much appreciation I need to have for a herd of “cows” next time I enter their territory!

Anyway, we get everything set up again, this time on the SAFE side of the fence…then the adrenaline and relief hits us and we all burst out laughing.  That’s when I got the shot of Erica below…which is one of my favorites.

Carey & Russ were married June 6th…so it’s more than safe to show her bridal session now.  The wedding was gorgeous and Carey’s dress is probably one of my all time favorites.  It just had great detailing, very elegant lines…loved it!  And she was absolutely stunning in it!

Jeff and I photographed both Carey and Erica’s bridal sessions at the same time at Southern Stables, here in Lufkin.  Southern Stables is a lovely home that’s now a bed and breakfast.  Around the home there are these gorgeous fenced fields with some taller grass, so we head over that way.  Carey’s sister mentions the “cows” on the other side of the field but  Carey and I reassure her that the cows aren’t going to bother us if we don’t bother them.  So we start Carey’s session.  After we take several images with Carey, she goes inside for awhile and it becomes Erica’s turn.  That’s where I wish I’d had a video camera because the next few minutes could have won us a big check on America’s Funniest Videos.  (To get the rest of the story, check out the pictures from Erica’s session next week.)

Here is my favorite from the field…before the running of the bulls…

Tricia and Sam’s wedding was yesterday so I can finally share Tricia’s bridal session.  Tricia is one of the sweetest people and she was a beautiful bride.  Even with the rain yesterday, the wedding was just gorgeous! Their families are fantastic people and Jeff & I enjoyed getting to share in their day.  I’ll be posting a sneak peek from their wedding later this week.

Tricia, it’s been a joy to get to know you!  You & Sam have a great honeymoon!!
